I'm Derek Kan, a Frontend Engineer with over 10 years building applications for web and mobile. I've worked at companies large and small, and on projects from prototypes to products with a large global reach. In my past roles I've been a dedicated team member, consistently showing up and being a source of help and support. I believe building a great product is a team sport and excellent products are built feature by feature with thoughfulness and care. I've been a technical lead with a focus on systems, structure and helping young engineers find their feet. And I've built some cool things with a focus on excellent UX, visual consistency and empathy.
